What’s In My Makeup Bag

For my first proper post in forever I couldn’t decide where to start. It really has been a long time and in that time lets just say I’ve bought a lot of makeup! In the end I decided to go with a look into my everyday makeup bag. I’ll have a more detailed look at some of the products in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime here’s a quick rundown of the current main staples in my makeup bag.

First up bases, my love affair with the Dior Nude BB Creme is still going strong. I’ve been reaching for it most days since I’ve been home in Ireland. It gives a beautiful, even glow to skin-not to mention just the perfect amount of coverage. My normal go-to for the past 8 months has been Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua. I just couldn’t find a foundation that was able to withstand the heat and humidity in Abu Dhabi, even the Dior BB Creme faltered. The Chanel Vita Lumiere was the only one that I could wear. It’s a light base and although I had doubts over how we would get on with my oily skin, I love it. It got to the point that I couldn’t ignore the hype over NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer anymore so I picked up one in an “I just need to buy new makeup” frenzy. I’m not the only one that gets into those moods, am I? It really is bloody brilliant at hiding dark under-eye badness and brightens everything up nicely. Defiantly a must try if you’re hunting for a great concealer-and let’s be honest who isn’t? Powder wise I splurged on the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder before leaving for Abu Dhabi and I am obsessed. It gives such a flawless look to skin without it being too powdery and dull. I’ll have a more detailed post on this next week.
My beloved Stila eyeshadow in Kitten has been given a break in favour of Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita palette. The champagne colour is my go to most days, but the rest of it also gets some serious use, it’s without a doubt the most versatile eye palette I have ever owned (sorry Naked palette!).

This wasn’t my first splurge in the land of Charlotte Tilbury, I treated myself to the Filmstar Bronze and Glow, which is defiantly on it’s way into cult product hall of fame. I was never a contour or bronzer person before this because it was impossible to find something to suit my pale skin. This is just so light and buildable. The highlighter is also perfection-it adds a lovely glow to skin that I just can’t get enough of. My blush, as always, is still Benefit’s Coralista! Sticking with Benefit Brow-zing is still my ultimate Holy Grail product.

My more budget friendly additions come in the form of Collection Fast Stroke Eye Liner and Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner (pictured here) hands down these are my favourite liquid eyeliners, I never use anything else. They are both so easy to use and their lasting power is incredible.  I’ve tried so many liquid liners that just don’t last. These both last all day long and retail for 3.99! Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner is more travel friendly and easier to achieve the cat-eye flick with because it’s in a pen form. Mascara wise I have become obsessed with Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara. It’s long-lasting, gives volume, adds length and is super back. That’s all my boxes ticked.

Although I’m defiantly starting to get a bit more into a bolder lip most days I reach for Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob with a lip balm such as Rosebud Salve over it which gives me just a hint of colour to brighten up my face.
I had been on the lookout for a small travel friendly makeup bag for a while when I came across this cute and colourful one from Maggs of London. It’s the perfect size to hold my daily essentials and fits perfectly into my bag. It was defiantly splurge-y, but it really suits it purpose-at least that’s what I’m telling myself!

Is there anything that you recommend I add to my makeup bag?
