The Bare Necessities

I’m one of those people who has to wear makeup everyday-it’s just something that I like to do. Recently though I have been cutting back on the amount I wear. Case in point-when running into Tesco at 8pm I don’t think that I have to do full makeup and I’m also pretty sure that my neighbours don’t care if they see me without my perfect filled in eyebrows whilst I walk the dogs up the road. So, I’ve pared back what I wear for certain days to the bare necessities (try not to sing that song for the rest of the day!)

The most recent addition to my makeup bag-and chemist shelves-is the La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Cream*. This gives me a lovely, even finish to my skin when I don’t want to full whack of foundation. I have quite oily skin but I found that this gives me a matte finish all day. An added bonus is the SPF 30-something that I forget about pretty often living in Ireland but it’s pretty important no matter where you live. It smells wonderful too. I didn’t think that I’d give up my Double Wear too willingly but this is doing the job. Next up is another product giving one of my old faithfuls a run for its money- the Laura  Geller Baked Cheek Dreams Highlighter and Blush in Neapolitan. I adore this for the highlighter alone- you can see that I’ve used it more that the other shades as I sometimes use it on its own as a highlighter. Originally you could only get the highlighter in a blush or bronzer trio but it’s been so popular that you can now purchase it on it’s own. The trio combined gives a subtle, natural colour to my skin which I need to not look like a washed out zombie. I use Essence Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown to fill in my eyebrows a little bit. I find pencil suits a more natural look than a wax and powder. My eyes tend to look really tired when I don’t use mascara so I apply one coat to my top lashes- I actually never but mascara on my bottom lashes anyway because I think it really opens up your eyes when you leave your bottom lashes bare. At the moment I’m keeping BADgal Lash on hand.  Keeping it in the Benefit family I then add a tiny little bit of Benefit High Beam to lift my cheekbones and brow bone.
