The other evening I was lucky enough to attend a Benefit event in Sam McCauley’s Wexford with four of the lovely ladies in my life. We got to sip wine while we oohed and ahhed at a demonstration of the amazing Benefit products on offer. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday evening. As we were been shown the products I was struck by how many of them I owned and I was inspired to show my stash. There’s a lot there but Benefit is my favourite cosmetics brand. I find myself always coming back to the products time and time again. Here are some of my all time favourites…
I repurchased one of my favourites, The Pore-fessional, at the event because I was running dangerously low. At €34 its not a cheep purchase but I believe that you get what you pay for and this does exactly what it says on the tin. So why do I love it? Well firstly it acts like polyfiller to my crater size pores as it fills them in and smooths over my skin so that my foundation goes on perfectly smooth. I mainly use it under my foundation but sometimes when I need the extra help I apply a tiny layer over my makeup to make sure that my base looks flawless.
I alternate between this blush and my Nars blush but needless to say this has gotten a lot of use and after three years I still haven’t hit pan although the box has seen better days. This is perfect for my pale skin as the coral-pink tone really compliments my colouring.
I always find that no matter what look I’m going for with my makeup using a bit of highlighter under my eyebrows always improves my overall makeup. I also like to use this on top of my cheekbones and my cupids bow to make my skin look more dewy and healthy. High beam comes in a number of kits which I recommend purchasing as you get to try out more products. Christmas is a great time for the best Benefit kits so keep an eye out from October onwards.
I love my mascara, its one of my must haves and this one really stands out, and I’m not the only one that thinks so. This beauty is the number one best selling mascara in the world! I love that it really thickens and lengthens my lashes for a more noticeable look. A little tip that I picked up on one of the Benefit shows on QVC is to go vertical to get the best effect! That means that after you apply your mascara normally (horizontally!) turn the brush vertically and apply another layer using the tippy top of the wand for longer, fuller lashes.
