I’m not really sure where time the has been slipping away to, but it’s starting to alarm me. When I returned to Abu Dhabi I had 17 weeks spanning before me and now I have just over 5 weeks done. I make it sound as if I’m serving time over, sometimes it feels like it. I joke. The last few weeks have been pretty hectic. It’s strange being back, it’s kinda like I never left for summer in a way. It was still hard to leave home again especially after being home for 2 months. The thing is, it truly gets harder and harder to say goodbye to everyone each time. Even though this is my forth trip tears were still shed. Being homesick is hard, but it’s something that you just have to push through.
Lately I’ve been feeling such job envy and and having a massive ‘Where is my life going?” meltdown. I know I’m not alone in this, in fact most of my friends are also experiencing it. What I do know is that I don’t want to be a teacher. It’s fine for now, but I’ve already decided that this will be my last year. I want to work at something I’m truly passionate abou, which is writing, and damn it I miss the seasons!!
Seen as I’m fully resolved that I’ll be bidding the Middle East farewell come June (ahh it feels so far away!) I’ve decided to make the most of the next few months by enjoying it and being more positive. Part of my making the most of things here is to do as much traveling as possible. First stop, Bahrain. Anyway here’s some things that I’ve been up to recently…
I got acrylic nails for the first time and I am obsessed now. It does make typing a little difficult though! Although we only started back 4 weeks ago we just had a small holiday here. It came so quickly that I didn’t have a chance to make any plans so instead I just took the opportunity to relax, catch up on TV shows and do a spot of shopping and it was pretty damn great! I had been thinking of heading to Dubai, but I decided to leave it for a few weeks until my mom is over visiting. Instead I paid a visit to the Galleria Mall here in Adu Dhabi. I had only been once before so it was nice to go explore somewhere that wasn’t familiar. It’s full of all the designer shops, and when I say all I mean all. Every designer that you can name has a store there. It was fun to have a little look at all the fabulous clothes and shoes. I have to admit that there was a chance at one point that a Dior bag was going to come home with me but I resisted, for now. I’ve always said that I wanted to buy something super special over here to remember my first big girl job so I have a feeling a bold purchase could be made soon. After teasing myself I decided to indulge in something I could afford, a Magnolia cupcake! I became obsessed with Magnolia Bakery after visiting New York. Seriously, their cupcakes are to die for! I had a peanut butter and jelly cupcake along with a hot chocolate that I’m still thinking about now-so so good!
