La Bella Vita

I’ve been very quiet over the past few months, but for good reason. Since April I’ve been working on launching my own business! I decided that I wanted to create a little corner of the internet filled with beautiful things called La Bella Vita which means “the beautiful life”.

I’ve been dancing around the idea of a store for so long that when I decided that I was going to do it I just threw myself into it head first, without overthinking it. Often I say I’m going to do something and I don’t follow through. I’m actually the worse at this, but not time.

I’m obsessed with stationary and everything that goes with it so I knew straight away that I wanted that to be a big feature of the store. I’ve been a massive fan of Rifle Paper Co. for years going through the bother of ordering from the U.S and paying extortionate shipping costs to Ireland. So, I singled them out as the brand I really wanted. It was so exciting when they decided that the were going to come on board. I also knew that I had to have some of Cat Coq’s beautiful art prints. Not only am I stocking stunning prints from Cat I was also lucky to get to work with her on my branding and she designed the most beautiful cards and packaging for the store.

I knew that I wanted more than just stationary so we decided to also stock jewellery. I was a bit more hesitant about this area at first. I’m in business with my mom and jewellery is more her thing. It made sense to have some of my interests and some of hers. But once I overcome my initial hesitation I became obsessed with the jewellery. I had a few things in my head that I knew I wanted and when I managed to track them down it was so exhilarating and rewarding. We have some really lovely pieces that (I hope) people are going to love.

It’s been hard work, but I’ve loved every minute of it. And last week I finally got to see my hard work pay off with the launch of the store. It was so hard to let it go in a way and let everyone see it. I get very protective and insecure about my work so it’s hard for me to let others in. But so far the response has been overwhelming.

I’m so excited to finally share the store with everyone. This is just phase one, I have a lot more planned -believe me!

I have more the details in another post on the official store blog here.

Have a little look at the store and tell me what you think!
