In Flight Mode

For someone who hates flying I seem to spend a lot of my time in the air. You may have seen already from my Instagram and Snapchat that I’m currently in Prague. I met my mom here so we could see the Christmas markets. I’m here for a few days and then I fly home to Ireland for Christmas.

I think traveling is the only time that I go out in public without makeup. I’ve worn a full face of makeup so many times in the past, but I’ve found it just wrecks my skin and my makeup looks dreadful once I reach the other side. It’s best to just take it all off. I always have to have a few bits and pieces beside me to make it a bit more comfortable and relaxing.

My number one thing that I cannot get on a flight without is some sort of lip balm. I actually lose my mind if I don’t have one to hand for the whole flight. My lips get so parched during flights and it dives my crazy. It’s not unusual to see me with two or three lip products in my bag when flying long-haul.

I recently invested in a pair of Beats Headphones. I had been thinking of making the purchase for a long time but I just couldn’t justify the money. I came across them one day in Gent Yas Mall on an insane half price deal that I snapped them up. The headsets given on airplanes are terrible and getting worse. The last few times I traveled the sound quality was really poor. I could hear so much static and they are uncomfortable to wear too. I’m looking forward to having my own now.

I’ve become obsessed with the Caudalie Beauty Exixlir. Yes, is crazy expensive for a spray, but it keeps my skin nicely hydrated during flights. The big thing for me is the smell. It’s mint and eucaplptice which calms me down. I’m a very nervous flyer and I’ve found that using this really helps me to relax. It’s a light, refreshing scent that’s in no way overwhelming so it’s fine to spray it without annoying other people (because there’s a special place in hell for people who spray things in confined areas).

I keep all these in a small little bag that I can take out of my carry-on bag before I store it overhead and then I can keep my few essentially to hand the whole way throughout the flight.

I’ve been searching for backpack for such a long time, it was so hard to find one that I liked the look of. But last week I spotted this one in the window of Parfois and I just fell in love. The colour is just beautiful. To me it looks way more expensive than it actually is. It reminds me of Marc Jacobs. The only problem is that it doesn’t fit my Macbook into it. That’s okay for this trip because I’ve decided to leave my Macbook behind in Abu Dhabi for Christmas.
