Essie Too Too Hot

Confession: I had never bought an Essie nail polish…until last week. I had a gift voucher to spend in Sam McCauley’s so I decided to try some new bits and pieces with it. I was glad that I held onto the voucher for so long (no matter how hard the temptation was) because there was a buy one get one half price offer on most cosmetics (hurray!). My friend Cara (read her blog here) had been in with me and I was practically drooling over her coral nail polish.  Yes, I have a vast variety of red polishes but I liked how fresh and striking coral nails are. So, after some debating I settled on Too Too Hot which is red but with pink undertones. I’m now a total convert to the power of Essie nail polishes. There is a lovely glossy finish to nails that actually sticks around without a topcoat, it reminds me of the finish that you get with shellac. The application brush is also great-I like a wide brush for quick application. The longevity is pretty great too, four days in and I only have a small chip on one nail. The only downside?  I’m already plotting which other shades I now need to purchase.

Ah I have been looking for a nail polish like this for ageees! Not too orange that it's a burnt orange colour but not too red either – this shade is perfect. Thank you so much! PS. Your nails look gorgeous 🙂 x
