Sometimes I forget to appreciate what a beautiful corner of the world Wexford is. I’m always preoccupied with wanting to see this place and that, that I forget that there’s a lot of exploring to be done right here at home. We got a spot of lovely weather the past few days, although as I type this I’m looking out at a very dull day-so is June weather in Ireland! When it was sunny we decided to pop down to Kilmore Quay. It’s only 20 minutes from my house but I hardly ever go down anymore. I don’t think I could really call it a sleepy port town because the hive of activity going on around the chipper on Friday evening was crazy. The Saltee Chipper is pretty legondary and for good reason, it sells the best fish and chips I have ever had in my 22 years on this planet. Seriously, pop eating in this chipper on your bucket list, it needs to happen at least once in your life. Kilmore is a fishing port so your are getting the freshest fish possible. Be prepared for queues, I waited 50 minutes for my order to take away but it was worth it. Afterwards I may have indulged in a very bold ice cream but it was perfection. Food aside I enjoyed taking a stroll around and enjoyed the views of a The Saltee Islands. I definitely need to start spend more time down here, it’s so beautiful.
I’ll be doing a more detailed guide to Wexford in the next few weeks so keep checking back!
