2016 Goals

Yes, I’m 11 days late with this one (eh, how are we already 11 days into 2016?) but my Internet was shocking at home in the Irish countryside-why I’m still surprised at this I don’t know. I’m now back with the real world in Abu Dhabi so lets pretend like I planned it this way.

Anyway, this year I’ve decided to be a bit more practical in what I want to do for the year ahead instead of making unrealistic resolutions.

Travel: 2015 was a good year for traveling. Since October I’ve managed to visit 3 new countries, 2 of them being in December. For the year ahead I want to try squeeze in as much traveling as I possibly can. I have a few plans coming together so far which are pretty exciting.

Be Healthy: This is the big one for me. I know that I need to make changes in my life and 2016 is going to be the time that I do just that. From smaller things like remembering to take vitamins everyday to the larger weight related goals.

Take More Pictures: In a world where we document all most everything (it certainly feels like that sometimes!) I feel like I never take enough photos of the right things, the important things such as friends and family. For this year I really want to start taking more photos in general but I also want to improve my photography skills. I purchased an Olympus Pen E-PL7 earlier this month as my faithful Nikon D5100 was just too heavy to lug around the whole time, especially when traveling.

Be Kinder To Myself: I’m pretty hard on myself, all day, everyday. From chastising myself for not doing more or being better to comparing myself to others constantly. I’m going to try give myself a little break and appreciate myself a little bit more and take care of me.

Learn to Drive: I started to learn how to drive when I was 17, but then a massive fear creeped into my head and I stopped all together. It was a massive mistake on my part. I’m setting aside time in the summer when I’m home in Ireland to finally conquer it because nearly everyone is a manic on the roads in the UAE, so I don’t think that will do much good for my fears and anxiety!

Vlog: Yep, vlog! Vlogging has been something that’s been in mind for a number of years but I’ve just never had the confidence to try it before now.

What are your resolutions for 2016?

P.S A belated Happy New Year! I hope that you have a wonderful and healthy 2016!x
